Meet the team at Whitby Animal Hospital in Whitby, ON

Dr. Varinder Dhaliwal

Dr. Dhaliwal has been practising veterinary medicine for over 30 years. Earlier in his career, his veterinary practise focused on both large and small animals. For the past decade, he has focused exclusively on small animals.

Dr. Dhaliwal stays up to date with current techniques and diagnostic procedures by regularly attending seminars and taking additional relevant courses. He has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and small animal dentistry. His hobbies include reading, driving and spending time with his family. He takes special pride in being a member of Veterinary Information Network (VIN) and College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO).

Joining Whitby Animal Hospital with Dr. Jeff Hurd and Dr. Rob McLeary has been a remarkable transition for me career-wise. Being a part of this team has been a truly rewarding experience. I would like to thank all my existing and new patients/clients as well as the staff members for making this transition so smooth and wonderful.

Dr. Jeff Hurd

Doctor Jeff Hurd graduated from the veterinary medicine program at the Royal Veterinary College, London, England in ’82 before taking a position at a clinic in St. John’s, NF in ’84. There he gained much valuable experience because of the lack of any nearby specialty hospital and also found the time to meet his future wife, Lynn. They moved to Toronto where he worked as a locum and associate for 9 years in a variety of clinics developing his skills before opening Whitby Animal Hospital in October 1994.

In his spare time, Jeff has a passion for photography and gardening and their many four legged dependents.
